THE PROPHET SAW has taught us how to fortify oneself from the evil attacks of black magic. Every Muslim must be sure that no one, no matter how strong, can not provide benefits or bring losses except by the will of Allah SWT. So the best protection for a Muslim from teluh or santet is to practice the Islamic way of life, read the Qur’an and recite dhikr and pray regularly.

God has promised that in fact Satan cannot have the power to govern God’s servants who are truly submissive, obedient and submissive to Him. Satan will have the power to rule only those who are willing and submissive to his power and command.

Allah SWT said: “ Indeed, My servants have no power over you against them, except those who follow you, namely those who go astray .” ( Al-Hijr: 42 )

Surely the devil has no power over those who believe and trust in their Lord. Indeed, his power (satan) is only for those who take him as a leader and for those who associate him with Allah “( An-Nahl: 99-100 ).

Magic is one of the types a disease that can befall human beings with the permission of Allah Azza wa Jalla. It is not Allah Azza wa Jalla who sent down a disease but He also sent down its cure. And a Muslim is forbidden to treat with something that is forbidden by Allah.

From Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu ‘anhu, from the Prophet sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam, He said:

مَا أنْزَلَ اللنُ لَهُ شِفَاءً

“It is not Allah who sends down a disease, but Allah will also send down its cure.” [HR Bukhari, kitab Ath Thibb, Bab Maa Anzalallahu Da’an Illa Anzala Lahu Syifa’an, hadits no. 5678].

A Muslim is forbidden to go to a shaman to treat magic with similar magic. Because the law comes to shamans and believes they are disbelievers. Not to mention asking them to do magic in order to dispel the magic that befell them, or to ask questions related to the child and relatives, or the relationship between husband and wife and family, about lost property, romance, disputes and so on.

It is a supernatural thing and only Allah Azza wa Jalla knows. Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:

من أتى كاهنا أو ساحرا فصدقه بما يقول فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمد

“Those who come to the shaman or sorcerer, and he justifies (trust) word they, then indeed he has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad “.

Shaykh Ali bin Sinan said,” This hadith is narrated by Al Bazaar (2067, Kasyful Astaar). ” Al Mundziri said in At Targhiib (4/36): “This hadith is narrated by Al Bazaar and Abu Ya’la with the chain of jayyid mauquf”. While Al Hafizh said in Al Fath (10/216): “Sanad this hadith jayyid”. See Fathul Majid, tahqiq Muhammad Hamid Al Faqi with takhrij Ali bin Sinan, p. 356.

Prevention
Here is how to prevent from the magic taught by the Prophet SAW.

1. In every situation, always monotheize Allah Azza wa Jalla and trust in Him, and stay away from shirk with all its forms.

Allah Almighty says:

إنه ليس له سلطان على الذين ءامنوا وعلى ربهم يتوكلون {99} إنما سلطانه على الذين يتولونه والذين هم به مشركون

“Surely he has no power for those who believe and trust in their Lord. Indeed, the power of Satan is only for those who make him a leader and for those who associate him with Allah “. [An Nahl/16 : 99-100].

Shaykh Abdurrahman bin Nashir As Sa’di said: “Indeed, Satan does not have the power to influence (defeat) people -the one who believes and trusts in his Lord alone, who has no ally for Him, then Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala will defend the believers who trust in Him from every evil of the devil, so that there is not the slightest gap for the devil to harm them ” [11].

And such verses are abundant in the Qur`an.

2. Perform every duty that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala commanded, and stay away from everything that is forbidden, and repent of every act of sin and ugliness.

The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said to Ibn‘ Abbas Radhiyallahu ‘anhu:

يَا غُلاَمُ! إنِي أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ ، احْفَظِ اللهَ يَحْفَظْكَ

“O son, verily I will teach you a few sentences. Take care of Allah, surely Allah will take care of you… ”[HR Tirmidzi kitab Shifatil Qiyamah, hadits no. 2516.]

Shaykh Nazhim Muhammad Sulthan stated, the meaning of His words Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam (احْفَظِ اللهَ) is to keep His commandments, His prohibitions, His laws and His rights . The way, by fulfilling what Allah and His Messenger commanded in the form of obligations, as well as avoiding all things that are forbidden.

While the meaning (يَحْفَظْكَ) is, whoever keeps His commandments, performs every obligation and avoids every prohibition, surely Allah will take care of it. Because the reward of a practice, similar to the charity itself.

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala’s care for the servant includes the care of himself, his children, his family and his property. Also the protection of his religion and faith from every matter of misleading suspicion ”.

3. Do not let children roam when the sun goes down. Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, which means:

“ If night has entered -if you are in the afternoon-, then hold your children. Indeed, the devil roamed at that time. when the night has come for a moment, then let them go “. [HR Bukhari Muslim].

4. Clean the house from crosses, statues and living pictures as well as dogs. It is narrated in a hadith, that the Angel (mercy) will not enter the house in which there are things above. It is also cleaned of neglected instruments, flutes and music.

5. Multiply reading Al Qur`an and make it a daily remembrance. From Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:

لا تجعلوا بيوتكم مقابر إن الشيطان ينفر من البيت الذي تقرأ فيه سورة البقرة

“Do not make your houses like grave. Indeed, the devil fled from the house where the letter of Al Baqarah was recited. ”[HR Muslim, kitab Shalatil Musafirina Wa Qasriha, Bab Istihbabi Shalatin Nafilati Fi Baitihi Wa Jawaziha Fil Masjid, hadits no. 780.]

6. Fortress yourself with prayers and ta’awudz as well as the prescribed dhikr, such as morning and evening dhikr, dhikr after obligatory prayers, dhikr before and after waking up, prayers when entering and leaving the house, prayers when riding a vehicle, prayers when entering and leaving the mosque, prayers when entering and exiting the bathroom, prayers when seeing people who have a misfortune, and other remembrances.

Ibn al-Qayyim said, “Indeed, the magic of the witches will work perfectly when it comes to weak hearts, souls full of orgasm that always depends on low things.

Therefore, there is generally a lot of magic about women, children, fools, rural people, and people who are weak in adherence to religion, tawakkal and monotheism, as well as people who has no part at all of the Divine Remembrance, prayers, and ta’awwudzaat nabawiyah. ”

7. Eat seven grains of ‘ajwah dates every morning. Based on the words of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam:

من تصبح كل يوم سبع تمرات عجوة لم يضره في ذلك اليوم سم ولا سحر

“Those who ate seven eggs date’ Ajwah every morning, then poison and magic will not be able to harm it on that day ”. [HR Bukhari, hadits no. 5445, 5768, 5769, 5779; dan Muslim, hadits no.2047].

And more importantly, if the dates we eat come from the city of Medina (i.e. between the two villages in the city of Medina), as mentioned in Muslim history.

all types of dates in Medina have the properties mentioned by the Prophet sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam. But he also argues, that this protection is also expected for people who eat seven dates, in addition to the dates of Medina absolutely.
